ClimateYouChange members are pleased to have met with local MP, Stephen Timms.
This was the first time that we met him as ClimateYouChange.
For context, group founder, Celia had previously had a meeting with Stephen Timms. This had been during a time of transition. She was moving away from being part of a wider organisation after seeing that their focus was more on activism than education. Celia was at this time deliberating on how best to set up a new type of group focussed on climate change education.
Now under the banner of ClimateYouChange, there was understandably keenness to see how we could build on the previous exploratory discussion Celia had with Stephen Timms.
We ended the meeting with a suggestion from Stephen Timms for “one big idea” from the group for a project that we could work on with him.
Now we must get our thinking hats on to decide on a suitable project which we can deliver together with our MP. It will need to be in an area which falls within his purview and fits with our group aims.
We look forward to seeing what we can achieve together.
